TrekBridge™ 1 & 2 – are TrekFit™ programs aimed at bridging the gap between food and health. It is geared to change not only people’s eating habit but influence them by changing their lifestyle and behavior relative to health. TrekFit’s specially designed program takes up challenges to reverse the adverse effects of poor nutrition. By using the TrekFit’s first line defense against poor eating habits, our clients will achieve a lifelong knowledge and ability to combat chronic diseases. Investing into any of the TrekFit™programs will provide a balancing act between the process of aging and quality of life by reversing or minimizing the effects of unhealthy lifestyle.
Bridging the gap between the absence of knowledge about nutrition and putting them into practice is NOT a typical “ABCs and 123s” that you see on TV. It requires commitment and dedication because when we analyze everything that is provided through this program, we are talking about your health. The most important thing that must be considered in engaging into our program is that your health is what counts and our mission to provide you with the solid understanding about nutrition and fitness will solidify your goal to succeed in achieving good health.
Nutrition education is a big motivating factor in diet-related behavior changes. Familiarity with healthy foods can be an encouraging event for some, but a rude awakening for others. Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)
TrekFit™ is using MNT as its therapeutic approach in treating medical conditions and their associated symptoms through specifically tailored nutrition/dietary management and intervention performed by a credentialed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Chronic medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and kidney failure can be well managed through MNT. Medical Nutrition Therapy is a systematic approach to proper diet, lifestyle game plan and nutritional intervention to correct or improve nutritional problems. MNT promotes quality of life by delaying or halting the effects of chronic disease such as from improved blood pressure, controlled blood sugar and weight loss or weight control.
Medical Nutrition Therapy can also improve the medical treatment of chronic diseases. For example, hospitalized sick patients can have a speedy recovery when MNT is used as part of their treatment modalities, such as in the case of post-surgical patients can have a fast wound healing. Nutrition is hydration and elderly people who are at high risk of dehydration and malnutrition can benefit from MNT.
Nutrition- According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) bridging the gap between food and health can help minimize constraints in poor early nutrition which is associated with increased risk of cardio-metabolic disease and cancer in later life. The importance to identify the biomarkers of the risk to develop these diseases can help clinicians develop early interventions to prevent or reverse the adverse effects of poor nutrition.
Our programs are not a “one-size fits all” programs where all clients are given the universal approach that can result in a “quick fix” and “yo-yo” effects. The approach we use are based on science while taking into considerations our client’s individual health conditions and needs. We take into serious consideration several factors that are influencing the way people eat or make their food choices. For example, biological and environmental factors play a big role in the way people eat. Research studies have indicated how a mother’s eating habit during pregnancy influences their children’s food choices as they grow older. Cultural and religious factors also influence people’s eating habit and lifestyles. And so, we follow effective guidelines and standards set forth by accrediting bodies to create the TrekFit™ model.
